There She Blows

A six thirty alarm call and of to meet Peter and David for breakfast at Complex de Capitale Helicopters via Uber.  The journey takes about 15 mins so not too bad.  On arrival to Capital Helicopters I discover that breakfast is not actually available (luckily I had prepared for this and had had two yogurt drinks before leaving the hotel).  David was on good form and explained all was good with the helicopter but he did have to treat the blades and paint them after are journeys over the seas.

Pictures taken, bills paid, helicopter fuelled we set off to Sept-Iles following the Lawrence River which is a large river that passes both Quebec City and Sept-Iles.  As some stages the river is over 22nm wide and freezes during the winter.  There was also prolonged battles on the river during World War 2.

The skies are clear but we do have a slight headwind, luckily though we are ahead of the front that is following on behind us, and should be able to out run it today.

Sept-Iles was a fur and trading outpost but is now an Iron town and,is the last stop for the Quebec Road system, after here it all gravel.

Spotted two whales blowing near Pointe-Aux-Anglais.

Quick turnaround at Sept-Iles, even time for a cup of tea!

Bumpy ride so far up to Schefferville and possible signs of sleet.  The terrain started of as forests and lakes and has turned more watery with fewer trees and more like tundra.

On arrival in Schefferville we fill,up with 222.3 Ltrs and no where to go.  Accommodation has not been sorted.  After talking to the taxi driver we end up at The Auberge Hotel "guest house", actually the hotel should really be in inverted commas.  Schefferville has no cell phone, coverage and the wifi is real bad, it suddenly occurs to me that we are unable to close, our flight plan.

Dinner is some kind of stewed meet, needless to say Peter had mine, I just had bread and cucumber.

At the guest house we meet to guys Donnie and Lucas from Newfoundland, who drilling up here, decent, fellows who we chat with.

Not much to do up here so in bed by 8.
