All Trumps in Panama

Our flight takes us over Volcano Masaya and the Islands we visited yesterday.  It is always cool to see from the air what we saw from the ground previously.  It was good to see that the Volcano was still steaming, it wasn't just a light show!  The islands looked better from the air.

Our crossing over the lake was a long one, why? Well because it is a big lake!  It took us over three more Volcanoes, this place has loads of them.  After the lake we cross over some stunning Nicaraguan scenery, this country is truly green, and utterly beautiful.  Prior to coasting out we zigzag along the Nicaraguan and Costa Rican border which is demarked by a winding river.  Not sure if we are allowed to enter Costa Rican airspace but our ground crew have said as we have a flight plan it should be ok.

Our last bit of land prior to coasting out indeed takes us over a small chunk of Costa Rica.  Coasting out the weather looks reasonable, but not perfect, we have been hear before.  The sea crossing is some 200 miles, it will improve as we leave land.  Of coarse the flip side is that it will probably deteriorate as we approach land.

This is of course what happens.  As we approach Panama City the weather clouds build up and storms accumulate, Panama is expecting us!  We weave our way around storm after storm, hitting most of them (weaving is not our thing!) The rain is heavy but thankfully we do avoid the electricity.  Closer to Panama we take a sharp turn and head directly towards the coastline, if we can see the coastline we can navigate! We hug the coast in the hope of finding a break in the weather so that we can move inland towards Panama City.  We struggle but know that the canal is coming up soon.  We have weather information that informs us that the weather over the city is good enough we know that the weather must break soon.  As the canal starts the weather breaks we are now in for a treat, we follow the river and Canal to the City, we pass over The Bridge of the Americas and into town.

After the usual hassle at the airport we sort ourselves out with out handlers, another victory for me!

Our hotel tonight was chosen by me with a little tongue in cheek.  We are at the Trump Oceanside.  Poor old Peter does not like Trump!

We check in I check out the roof top Bar and Casino and of to bed.
