Islands, Churches and Markets

Today I get to walk around around Granada alone, first port of call is the Cathedral of course!  The present structure was completed in 1972 but a church has existed on the site since 1525.  As Cathedrals go it is not St Peters and will not get a big write up from me.  It was worth a visit, but not anything special.  So off to look around the town. Walking around town I stumble upon a market, a warren of alley ways and stores.  I ventured deep into the market, the only European there.  It was hectic, it was busy, the paths were narrow.  All and sundry was being sold, fish , meat, vegetables and rices.  The blood from the meat was dripping on to the floor, the local dogs were making the most of it.  How so  much meat gets sold in one day beggars belief, surely most goes to waste!  I cannot be kept, it is not refrigerated. On exiting the market I spy another church, this church looks older than the Cathedral., Iglesia La Merced.  Indeed the present structure is, being completed in 1
