From Swedish Pancakes to Nuuk
Not a bad nights sleep and pancakes in the morning. Unable to have a shower this morning, (well I could have but it would used up our hosts water) and had to do a number 2 in a bucket, they are not on any sewage.
Spent the morning pleasantly chatting to our hosts before walking down to helicopter for 10 am departure. Goodbyes said we head south to Nuuk over the bay and pass some more icebergs. The ice cap is to our left and clear turquoise water below.
Mikel and Pamela are fascinating, lovely people, if a bit crazy in there adventures. Hope to catch up them in the future, maybe at Old Trafford.
At Nuuk we will catch up with the Fosters who are flying from South Africa to Australia in a RV10. They meet as at the Hotel as we arrive. I pop into the "big city" to get a new hat, since I left mine at Ilulusut. I also scope what is around, not much.
Peter arranges dinner with a guy called Sved, I decline and join the Fosters in town. We start up at the Pub Maximut until we aired disturbed and pestered by a drunk local. While we were there we meet a boat captain and a two guys from the AP who are interested in our story. I try to arrange a meeting but it doesn't seem that it will work out. Dinner was at the theatre and then back out into town were we have a beer at daddy's. I meet Junior who works for Sonderstrom ATC, he was the gentleman who worked with us today. Junior is a real useful chap to talk too and he gives us good advice for our trip across the ice cap.
